Edward Wesson - Landscape with boat on a lake
Edward Wesson (1910-1983) – Landscape with boat on a lake
He was a British painter known for his simple yet elegant watercolours of coasts and rivers. Born on April 29, 1910 in London, United Kingdom, he was largely self-taught, developing his own style of economical strokes to depict his subjects. The artist was most inspired by water, and many of his paintings depict the moody blues and greys of the river Thames. He went on to become a full member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, exhibited with the Royal Society of British Artists, and the Royal Society of Marine Artists.
